Apple Pie Oats

Did you grow up eating instant oatmeal? There's something so nostalgic about smelling warm cinnamon and apples together in some oats. This week, we're using the apples from our box to recreate this winter favorite, and it's just as easy as ripping open the envelope, I promise. These apples are a little bumped and bruised, which makes them perfect for cooking, and the flavor is delicious!

We're adding a little bit of sweetness with maple syrup, but if you prefer zero added sugar, feel free to omit, as the apples are sweet! We are using instant oats, so if you have plain rolled, please allow a little additional cooking time, according to the package!
Apple Pie Oats. serves 2 (hungry adults) serves 4 (lucky kiddos) Ingredients 2 apples, diced 1 cup organic unsweetened almond milk 1 cup water 1 cup instant oats 1 tsp cinnamon 1 tsp salt 2-3 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Directions 1. In a sauce pot, bring water, almond milk, diced apples, maple syrup, and cinnamon to a boil. Cook for 2 minutes. 2. Add oats and salt, stir, remove from heat, and cover with a lid for 1-2 minutes, until oats are thickened and cooked through. 3. Serve with a drizzle of maple syrup on top, a sprinkle of cinnamon, and either a dollop of yogurt or whipped cream. You can eat right away, or store in servings to reheat throughout the week. We have doubled this recipe to make for a work week, and it reheats really well! We hope you love this recipe as much as we do, and if you recreate it, be sure to tag us on instagram, @realfoodremedyrx so we can keep up with your foodie journey! Thanks for another great week!
