Green Juice

TGIF! Organic boxes are heading out today, and they're packed with some real winners. A mixture of celery, apples, colorful carrots, pears, romaine, & lots of other goodies. If you're wondering what to do with your box this weekend, you can always add the apples to oatmeal, the pears to a salad with crumbled blue cheese, and of course, celery in a big pot of chicken soup. We decided to get our juice on with this week's goodies, and it turned out simply delicious. If you don't have a juicer, never fear, you can blend your fruits and veggies, and strain the pulp through a "nut-milk bag". (trust us, just type nut milk bag into amazon and you'll have exactly what you need).

Juicing is a great way to flood the body with a straight dosage of vitamins and nutrients, without the slower process of digestion with fiber that comes with naturally eating food- which, is obviously beneficial, but if you feel a cold coming on, want some extra veggie boost feels, or just want a fast way to incorporate a healthy dosage of nutrients to your body- try a juice. Plus juice is a great way to use up imperfect fruits and veggies. Who cares what the skin looks like if you're going to turn it into pulp? We rinsed our veggies in a sink of water, and wiped them of any dirt particles. Trim the edges of your celery, carrots, and lettuces, and chop the veggies into smaller, more manageable chunks. You can use whatever combo you like, and here's what we did! Let's get to it!
