Orange Ginger, Green Mint & Cardamom Banana Smoothies

Smoothies are one of the most perfect ways to add lots of colorful fruits and veggies to your diet. And the possibilities are endless! We packed in as many goodies as we could fit into our blender and, in our opinion, the results are more mouth watering than dessert! One box, three nutritious and delicious smoothies!

We don’t like things too sweet, so we typically look for a way to keep our smoothies a little more grounded by adding greens, celery, nuts, spices and seeds. For these three recipes, we focused on flavors that we've been drawn to lately and aimed for bright and flavorful for the mint green and the ginger ones, and for hearty and comforting with the banana cardamom, which is honestly enough for a whole breakfast on the run. These smoothies are completely open to your interpretation - another great thing about smoothies. Feel free to add in a cuke, some spinach, or more or less of something. Smoothies are very, very forgiving. We love them for that.

Orange Ginger Smoothie

1/2 large mango, peeled

2 peaches

1/2 large carrot

1" ring of pineapple, peeled and cored

1 - 1 1/2 Tbsp. fresh ginger

1 cup cold water

a dozen ice cubes

Blend!

Makes 2 servings.

Green Mint Smoothie

1/4 honeydew

1 kale leaf with rib trimmed out

1 green apple cored and unpeeled

12 mint leaves

1 c. cold water or juice (sweeter)

a dozen ice cubes

Blend!

Makes 2 servings.

If you prefer a sweeter smoothie, substitute one cup of pineapple, apple or orange juice instead of the water.

Cardamom Banana Smoothie

2 bananas

1 1/2 cups almond milk

1/2 tsp. ground cardamom

1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon

2 handfuls of plain almonds

4 Tbsp. rolled oats

1/4 cup tahini

2 tsp. hemp hearts

2 tsp. ground flax

6 ice cubes

Blend!

Makes 2 servings.

If you'd like an extra indulgence you could add a drizzle of chocolate to this!

We hope you'll give these cold smoothies a try! Don't forget to show us what you're cooking up in your own kitchen this weekend! Tag us on Facebook and Instagram @realfoodremedyrx so we can share your creations to inspire others!
