Grilled Peach Sundaes

This weekend, celebrate Dad and the official start of summer with these simple grilled peach sundaes. A delicious way to enjoy the perfectly imperfect peaches we rescued this week, grilling the peaches first enhances their natural sweetness, even when they aren’t quite ripe. We’re topping these sundaes with the flavors of a peach crisp, like cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, and walnuts! They’re so cute, fun to make, and taste like summer!

Grilled fruit sundaes aren’t limited to peaches. Any stone fruit works well, as does watermelon, pineapple, pears, and bananas. Imagine the possibilities and flavor combinations. Top grilled watermelon with lemon sorbet, pineapple with coconut milk ice cream, pears with caramel ice cream, and bananas with neapolitan or butter pecan. Gather your toppings and set up a build-your-own fruit sundae bar this weekend (or anytime this summer)!

If you try grilling any of your Perfectly Imperfect fruit this summer, we’d love to see it! Snap a pic, post it to social, and tag us @perfectlyimperfectproduce so we can share your creations to inspire others!

Grilled Peach Sundaes
Active time: 10 Min.
Total time: 10 Min.
Ingredients:
Perfectly Imperfect Peaches, halved and pitted
Neutral cooking oil, like avocado oil
Cinnamon sugar
Small waffle bowls
Vanilla bean ice cream
Caramel sauce, warmed
Toasted chopped walnuts
Biscoff cookies or gingersnaps

Instructions:
Preheat an outdoor grill or grill pan to medium heat. Lightly brush the cut sides of the peaches with the oil, then place cut side down on the grill. Grill until lightly golden brown and just warmed through. Remove from the grill and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
To assemble the sundaes, place a peach half in a waffle bowl (or use a regular bowl). You can cut up the peaches into bite size pieces first, if desired. Top with a scoop of ice cream, a drizzle of caramel sauce, walnuts, and crumbled biscoff cookies or gingersnaps. Enjoy!
